Besides creating and wearing our 'Good Guy' costumes, our world-wide membership often chooses to give back to their communities through costumed volunteer activities and charity events. No one can provide the public with a greater range of Star Wars costumes, nor a more personable, interactive, face-to-face experience. We're The Good Guys! Members of the Legion hold no rights to the characters they portray, and acknowledge while in costume, we represent the characters of the Star Wars Universe. And as such, accept the responsibility to promote a safe and professional public image. |

To promote a sense of camraderie among Legion members - educating, mentoring, and supporting fellow costumers as they continue to improve the quality of their creations. To uplift the spirits of children by bringing their dreams to life, and to promote goodwill worldwide through volunteer community service.

Everyone should have an opportunity to contribute, belong, play, and smile regardless of sex, race, religion, creed, nationality, sexual orientation, or physical handicap – and to be able to share that with all the children of the world, both big and small. |

Much like the fictional Rebel Alliance, The Rebel Legion was formed in reaction to the 501st Legion, our sister costuming group for the 'Dark Side' Star Wars costumes. For quite a while, the 501st grew their membership, and their presence was felt at nearly every science-fiction and fantasy convention in the world. Sith Lords, Storm Troopers, Bounty Hunters, and Imperial Officers ... they were all united by their love of Imperial Costuming.
But what about the Jedi's, Rebel Pilots, Queen's, Princesses, Smugglers, and Wookiees? They had no costuming group to call their own. Not until a few brave souls banded together, and much like the movie's Rebellion, formed their own group. The Leader of this new movement was a man named Tony Troxell, a Rebel Pilot.
The Legion first appeared in 2000, and since the groups formation it has grown from just a few dozen Rebel costumers that kept in touch over the internet, to becoming the Premier Rebel Costuming Group in the Star Wars community it is today. Our membership is constantly increasing and we have established our own presence in the world.
Tony took his place as the first Legion Commander. He served us well in those first years, setting the pace that has made us what we are today. Eventually he passed that role on to others, which lead to the formation of the Legion Council that is in place today. In the tradition of the Republic that the Rebels are trying to restore, the current Command and Council are elected every year by it's own members. |
